Who we are
This policy explains how CrisisBrief (“we,” “us”) handles personal data when you use CrisisBrief.
What we collect
- Account data — the name and email address you provide to register or request access, and authentication metadata.
- Usage data — the brief topics and queries you submit, the briefs generated for you, and basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) used for security and reliability.
- Cookies — strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management.
How we use it
- to provide, operate, and secure the Service;
- to generate the briefs you request;
- to communicate with you about your account or access;
- to detect, prevent, and address abuse or technical issues;
- to comply with legal obligations.
Third-party processors
To generate briefs, the topics and queries you submit are sent to third-party providers that process data on our behalf, including AI model providers and search/data providers. These providers process the data only to deliver their service to us. Do not submit confidential, classified, or personal information you are not authorized to share, as it will be transmitted to these providers.
Legal bases (where GDPR applies)
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the bases of performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.
Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter only as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@crisisbrief.ai.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
