1. Acceptance
By accessing or using CrisisBrief (the “Service”), operated by CrisisBrief, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
CrisisBrief produces automated, AI-assisted briefs from open-source material. The Service and its output are provided for informational and research purposes only and are subject to the limitations described in our Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms.
3. No reliance
You acknowledge that the output may be inaccurate or incomplete and that you use it at your own risk. You are solely responsible for independently verifying any information before relying on or acting upon it. You agree not to use the Service for safety-of-life, emergency, or other high-stakes decisions.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- scrape, resell, or redistribute the output as if it were verified intelligence or your own original reporting;
- use the Service to harass, endanger, or harm others.
5. Accounts
If the Service requires an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
6. Intellectual property
The Service’s software, design, and branding are owned by CrisisBrief and protected by applicable law. Open-source material referenced or summarized within briefs remains the property of its respective publishers; CrisisBrief claims no ownership over it.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CrisisBrief shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CrisisBrief and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [your country / state], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there.
